A More Social Xbox

It seems the Xbox is really trying to make their Live service more social. Announced at the E3 conference last month, Xbox Live is introducing Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm to their on-line service. You can check out the full story from this link here.

New To Blogging? Watch This Video!

Whole-House Surge Protection

It's important to protect all your electronic devices, not just computers, from surges. Printers, televisions, appliances, and computer peripherals all require protection. However, it can be inconvenient to use individual surge protectors on all devices that need protection. One solution is to install a whole-house surge protector as shown in this photo. The device is installed by an electrician and is attatched to your circuit breaker panel. Whole-house surge protectors function like other surge protection devices, but they protect all electrical devices in the house at once. The typical cost of $200 to $300 (installed) is generally less than buying individual surge protectors for every electrical device in your home.

Snow Leopard

I'm not a huge fan of Apple only because I am not familiar with their operating systems, but I did see a demo of Mac OS X Snow Leopard and it looks to be pretty cool. Windows has always been a comfortable and familiar operating system for me, and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon, but Snow Leopard is worth looking at!
You can see it at the snow leopard website.

RealD

I have always thought that the concept of 3-D movies was cool, but in the past they never really caught on. Now, with the new wave of 3D movies coming into horror films (My Bloody Valentine) but more prominent in animated films, it seems they are here to stay. Having seen a couple of 3D movies recently, I can say that it does add quite a bit of depth to the story being told on the screen and definitely worth checking out!
While you're at it, check out 3D for more information on this "new" technology.

Project Natal

I have been a huge fan of videogames since 1985 and more recently I have started paying attention the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo which showcases videogame hardware and software. At the last show, which was just a couple weeks ago, Microsoft debuted "Project Natal", which is a new, controller free experience with playing videogames. I'm not sure if this is going to be just a gimmick, but it sounds intriguing.
You can check project natal out for yourself if you'd like.

Summer movies

Whenever summer comes around, blockbusters aren't far behind. It can be difficult to know exactly which movies to keep watch for, so here are some suggestions. For the action movie fan, there are a few suggestions, and a couple of these are already out in theaters: "Star Trek", "Terminator Salvation", "Public Enemies", and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". For the comedy fan, there's "The Hangover" and "Funny People", "Year One" and "Land of the Lost". It should be an interesting and hopefully entertaining summer!
